Rooftop Crazy Golf

Last night I had the pleasure of playing a round on the crazy golf course currently on the rooftop of Selfridges, which is running throughout the summer. It has been created by British jellymongers and food architects Bompas & Parr and designed to look like a giant display of cakes representing famous London landmarks. I hope this is making sense. Apparently this is not the first time crazy golf has been played on Selfridges rooftop, it was introduced in the 1930s after the depression to boost the spirits of Londoners. I think this is an excellent idea.

We were given golf clubs, pastel coloured golf balls and a bakewell tart scented scorecard and instructed to start at the cake hole and finish at the giant revolving purple gherkin, of course. The whole experience was a bit bonkers and very British, I LOVED it. We didn't take it too seriously, and there may have been some slight cheating (some of the holes were really difficult!). Apparently some people took it very seriously indeed and even brought their own golf clubs (but how can you take something seriously when it has the word 'Crazy' in the name?!?) I hope my camera-phone pictures do it justice as I forgot my actual camera, scroll down to witness the fun. (ps I'm planning on finally getting an iphone soon so instagram here I come!)

You can buy tickets here, I can HIGHLY recommend it!
